Yes, you can quickly switch between a Day Session and the 24 hour session. Please refer to the documentation here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartSettings.html#QuickSessionSwitching http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartMenu.html#UseEveningFullSession Sierra Chart Support Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-09-30 15:25:50

Thx! (and generally thx for your quick replys) I did now sett the session times for an intrady gold chart. worked. then I changed the bar period to daily. there I do not see the gaps anymore. and when I now switch back to an 60min chart the session is set to 24hours again. generally I wanted to ask what happens when I set the bar period of an intrady chart to daily. does sierra then take the daily data-file of the same symbol or does sierra just make a daily chart out of the intrady data? thx in advance! PS: at the beginning I was actually not too happy with the "layout" of sierra and also the menues etc. but I start really liking it! :-) |

one more thing. at the moment I am connected with the "Sierra Historical intraday Futures data" source. changing from eg 15mins bar to 60mins bar takes about 2,5 secs. Is that normal? If yes - is it up to the feed? thx! |

Refer to help topic 30 here: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails30.html It is impossible to say whether that is normal or not. There are various things which can affect it. thank you. I am pretty much sure its non of those reasons. I am jut getting familiar with Sierra. I have max 2-3 charts open, the machine is new and rather fast (SSD, 8GBRAM, i5). there are no studies on the chart despite for 2-3-4 volume profiles. (calculation of profiles is set to 1 tick.) I dont run any other programs, etc. what about quesitions on #3, especially first one, rest is not so important? thank you! |

We are getting to your other questions now. You need to set the Session Times through Global Symbol Settings: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php This way, you will not lose the settings in the chart because the chart will be set from those settings.
