hi i would like to ask about the duplicated trades in imported tradelog. on your website you describe, that when a tradelog will be imported, all duplicated orders will be ignored.

now i have imported couple of tradelogs from my previous backtests, and the duplications are there.. it misleads the overall statistics and i would like to elegantly get rid of the duplications. how? what do i do wrong that the duplications are there even if you describe (Trade Activity Log) that they will be ignored?

also, i sometimes cannot import a particular tradelog - why is it so? some of them are easily importable some of them are not.. why?

We think this is a case of understanding what is considered a duplicate fill.

Refer to step 7 here for an explanation:
Trade Activity Log: Importing and Exporting Data

With this understanding you will then have to determine why it is you are seeing the results that you do. There is no way we can explain this from our perspective because we do not know exactly what you are doing.

From our perspective this is totally impossible for us to explain because we simply do not know the exact details of what you are doing. You would have to document this step-by-step, provide us your Trade Activity Log file, delete all of the order fills that you have exported and then try to import them.

If you are running different back tests, then you really need to segregate those by using a different Trade Account for each:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

If you start importing order fills from different back tests for the same symbol and account, it seems logical you are can run into duplicates.

ok, thanx. is there any way to manualy delete duplicated trades?

they probably don't have the same ID. so that is why..

because sierra cannot load longer history (error out of memory), i had to divide the backtest into multiple parts (first: 13.9 - 24.10, second 24.10 - 12.8.) i did 2 backtests, thus, by mistake, i have 24.10. twice and now, when i import them, they are "duplicated" (having the same timestamp etc..)

so what should i do in this case? is there any way to elegantly get rid of it?

To manually delete a line in the Trade Activity Log, refer to:
Trade Activity Log: Trade Activity Data Editing Menu Commands (Trade >> Trade Activity Log)

We also hope to have the 64-bit version out soon which will overcome the memory limitation.
