Hi All,

I am about to migrate from Ninjatrader to Sierra Charts. I have been using alarms (simple price crossover) since I started trading.
This is how I do it in Ninja. https://youtu.be/89X1j9AU_2U
Do you have something similar? I saw some videos but those took 3-4 minutes, and I dont want to spend minutes to set a simple price alarm.

Thanks.
MrG

You can quickly do this from the Add Symbol Alert tool. This is found under Window/Alert Manager/Symbol Alerts (Tab)/Add Symbol Alert. Your alert choices are available in the selection window (see below). To make this faster and actually useful, add the Add Symbol Alert to your Chart shortcut menu via Global Settings/Customize Chart Shortcut Menu and you can select it via right click right on your chart. Your price will be the point you clicked your mouse for the alert.

Here's a link to the SC Documentation -->

Alerts Manager: Symbol Alerts

Edit - Sorry I should have watched your video first. My method doesn't give you the moveable line after it's set. You can adjust it but it's not as simple as what you were doing in NT and what SC Support showed below.

1. You can replicate this by using a Horizontal Line:
Chart Drawing Tools: Horizontal Line | Horizontal Ray | Horizonal Line Non-Extended | Vertical Line

And setting an alert for when the prices crosses it:
Chart Drawing Tools: Chart Drawing Alerts

And you can then drag it up and down on the chart as needed.

2. Setting a simple chart or study alert should not take 3 - 4 minutes, as you just need to open the appropriate window and enter the required alert formula. Refer to the complete documentation about chart and study alerts here:

Hello MRG ... I am Corrado and I have seen that you have a similar need to Yours but that I could not solve even reading the advice of the excellent consultants of Sierra. Please can you tell me how to put a signal on the graph (dot or arrow when a copndizione occurs (simple example: when RSI break the 50 I would like a little dot on prices) thanks anyway of any help! Corrado
