I"m getting setup with Dorman Trading and asked the in house broker how paper trading would work with Sierra Charts and CT4. He said to ask Sierra Chart about paper trading through CT4. I'm funding this Saturday, already have an account number with Dorman, but am curious how the FIX API CT4 connection will allow both LIVE and PAPER TRADING. Could you folks offer a suggestion on this front?

The easiest way to accomplish simulated trading, is to use Trade Simulation Mode: Trade Simulation Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Or if you want to use CTS for the simulated trading, then you just simply use the Demo/Simulation server and get the right connection details from your broker. This is explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/CTS_T4.php#SetupInstructions Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. What would be nice is a less confusing obfuscation of demo account provisioning. So, I'm clear - there is a CT4 demo account path to CT4 servers, a Sierra Chart demo account path to Sierra Chart servers and a live CT4 Fix API account path to Doorman servers? So, Dorman doesn't sponser Demo account servers for the CT4 account connection? Is getting the CT4 demo account (for more than 2 weeks) still considered to be under the auspices of their $10 a month, 20 cents a round turn package with Sierra Charts - CT4 - Dorman Trading connectivity? |

This is not the case. a live CT4 Fix API account path to Doorman servers? This is not the case either. So, Dorman doesn't sponser Demo account servers for the CT4 account connection? The LowCostConnectionModel link looks to me it's all about the DTC protocol configuration for a full CTS connection via DTC, not the FIX API. Even when I logon to Sierra Charts, I'm warned that I need to complete my account configuration with DTC and all the drop down choices at DTS protocol. Then, when I look at the Data/Feed settings and I see a selection for T4 FIX API -- the demo credentials that I got from Dorman are not working. And, how I'm I supposed to get Sierra Chart Data when I choose the T4 FIX API connection? It looks like the T4 FIX API choice and SIERRA DATA choices are mutually exclusive? I'm chasing my tail here and have submitted a ticket on your support ticketing system. |

And, how I'm I supposed to get Sierra Chart Data when I choose the T4 FIX API connection? This happens automatically. There is nothing special to do. Refer to:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#IntegrationWithTradingServices Do you have a live CTS account with Dorman? We see that you have a demo CTS account assigned to your Sierra Chart account which uses the low-cost connection model. Therefore to use that, set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to CTS Trading Demo-DTC. If there any connection problems, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog For further help do not use Account Support tickets but this board. Folks OK, thank you. I think I now understand. After reading your link in detail, if I choose Data/Trade Service setting of "Service to CTS Trading Demo-DTC" -- the SierraChart Data servers will still feed my charts and DOM on my charts, but the symbols used for the DEMO execution will be CTS FIX API formatted to the CTS/Dorman Demo servers. Would you recommend using the DEMO account that you folks provisioned or the DEMO account that was provided to me by Dorman/CTS? Additionally, if I do use the Dorman/CTS DEMO account (issued by Dorman) -- would the Data/Trade Service Setting still be "Service to CTS Trading Demo-DTC"? Is there a mix of DTC protocol for Demo trading vs. FIX API for LIVE SERVER Trading? Regards, Mark Sanchez |

Folks Neglected to answer your question: Yes, I have a LIVE Dorman CTS/T4 account and a Demo Doman CTS/T4 account. Dorman knows that I'm trying to use the low cost Sierra Charts FIX API connectivity. |

When using the SieraCharts CTS Trading Demo-DTC data on the DATA/TRADE Service Settings panel, should I also check the box "Enable FIX Logging"? Regards, Mark S. |
