Hello SC Support, I use dark background on my charts. When grouping several charts in the same screen the white borders are too many and it becomes troublesome. Is it possible to have the chart borders black instead of white? (Please see the screenshot attached). I have already tried SC Graphics Settings and Windows 7 window color settings but couldn't find a way to do it. Thanks in advance. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-09-20 15:22:58

You should be able to change the color through the Windows color settings in the Display settings. That may be described as the Dialog window background color.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I have tried what you suggested (Display / Personalization / Window Color) and tried every single item that is available in that menu but it does not change the color of the chart borders. I have it this way (charts with black borders) with Ninja Trader charts but I am transitioning for Sierra Chart. Any other suggestion, please? |

I have tried several times to change the color of the window border for a chart not showing a title bar.. i have just accepted that windows doesn't recognize a border without a title bar, that is the only way i can explain it

Hello SC Support, I was observing SC and NT chart borders side by side with more detail and the difference is that while SC charts have an inner white border, NT charts just don't have this white border (please see the NT chart example attached). I apologize to insist on this issue but it makes a considerable visual difference when we have eight small charts in one screen. In my opinion SC has become a very good trading software and this “small” detail would make it even better in terms of visual perspective as it would allow to reduce the unnecessary visual “pollution” on the screens. I am quite convinced that many traders would also appreciate this improvement. Would you please consider implementing this alteration in the future? Thanks in advance. |

This is a great request. I have tried multiple times to get borders all black.

Waiting long time. One of the top requests.

I'd also be a fan of being able to set the borders black (or custom RGB)

I'd also like this feature, along with the ability to adjust the thickness of the borders to maximize usable screen space.

Futures Operator, you can do this. Go to your desktop, right click > personalize > windows color > border padding I would like to add my vote to the border color changing option though Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-09-30 02:25:23

Trade2Day1, it is beyond that, unfortunately - no user can remove the bold white frame around the every chart, actually painting them black wouldn't be the right choice but eliminating instead, those pixels all need to go. Thanks |

there is nothing wrong with the pixels.. you can change the thickness through windows. i personally like the charts just how they are, it would just be nice to change the color of the border which is what this thread is about

If there would be anything left to do in windows we wouldn't post here IMO. |

Thank you SC users for your opinions and support on this issue. However, in order to keep this request as simple as possible for the SC Team I think that just suppressing the window inner white border and just keeping the thin black or dark gray border would be good enough. So let’s be patient and give SC Team some time as we all know they have been very busy with some other important tasks. Hopefully they will take a look at this request when they find some time for it. By the way, I have already tried every option available in Windows 7 and in this case it is not possible to change anything else through it. Thanks everyone for the input. Trade2day1 I am sorry, I didn't mean to be impolite or exclude other options when I wrote my previous post. My intention was just not to ask for too much from SC Team. I will be happy with more than one option for the borders. For me though it would be fine just having them black instead of white and, if possible, thinner. |

I didn't either.. I just thought we were talking about the option for changing the color of the border not changing the border all together.. you can change the thickness of the border through windows 7. you go to personalize > window color > advanced options (if you are using aero themes) > border padding and you can change the thickness from there attached is what mine looks like with border padding set to 2.. it does not allow for the color to be changed but it does adjust the thickness. |

Thanks for that tip Trade2day1, worked great, set to 0 and have more usable space. Now if we can change the colors too it will be even better.

Trade2day1, Thanks for your suggestion, that is the exact same setting that I have been using but I would really like to have something better. It works well for you because you have light background charts but all my charts are dark gray or black. I am even overlapping the borders of the charts and placing them out of the screen to minimize the effect but it is still not good (take a look at the screenshot attached). I am still hoping that some day we can have the option to have it thinner and black... Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-10-01 09:41:12

It's interesting user30668 because I do the same thing and when you have like 30-40 of them it adds extra sensory noise and some space collectively. I believe charts must be optimized to the single pixel on the screens, including t&s etc... Thanks |
