Study Price Overlay from intraday to historical chart

Hi, I'm using High/Low for Time Period study on an intraday chart to draw out the Asia range. On the intraday chart it shows previous days fine. I'm trying to overlay the SG1 value as a line from the High/Low study onto a historical chart. Problem I'm finding is that current day's SG1 is copying fine but previous days are not. I've set draw zero values on study price overlay on the historical chart and it's showing all zero values prior to current day. On the historical daily chart if I switch it to an intraday timeframe like 4hr, then the overlay works correctly. Any idea? Thanks S |

Is there data from the High/Low for Time Period study for the days that are missing on the Historical chart, on the Intraday chart? These data values need to be present for each bar on the Intraday chart.

Yes. The intraday chart has data instances every day for the number of days that i set look back for

See attached. Currently set to historical chart on the left and doesn't show the SPO. Switching to an intraday timeframe works fine. Guess but maybe it has to do with the 'High/Low for Time Period' study's start/end time being within the time range of the daily session?

OK you have given a good indication of why there is a problem. Instead of using High/Low for Time Period, change the study to High/Low for Time Period-Extended. The problem is that the daily chart bars are mapping to Intraday bars where there is no data from High/Low for Time Period. Sorry this doesn't work. On the daily chart the line is now appearing but it's location is not the same as the original one I set using 05:00:00 start and 05:01:00 end times. Also on the intraday chart the new line (SG is set to dash) moves in a staircase like way as new candles are created

We think you may have misunderstood. Set the Chart >> Chart Settings Session Times as described in post #8. Do not change the times on the study you have already originally set. Although there is one detail we need to look into in regards to mapping of Intraday Date-Times to a historical chart. This may not be something which has been thought of so it may not have the best mapping method. Also on the intraday chart the new line (SG is set to dash) moves in a staircase like way as new candles are created We do not observe this and we think you have misunderstood us.

Unfortunately I have other time based studies running which would be affected adversely so this kind of change is not possible. Hopefully you can add an improved mapping method to help here. Thanks |

Btw. Issue only happens for some periods. I need to set my session to 22:00:00 to 21:59:59 and this is doesn't work. However 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 works fine. Not sure if this makes a difference but thought i'd mention it

To accomplish what you want requires a modification to the High/Low for Time Period study. We may or may not be able to get to that anytime soon.
