Using SC with S5Trader/Gain. I have 2 active charts in 2 different chartbooks with spreadsheet system alerts. There are 5 of these alerts in each chart. They take information from 4 studies plus price to form the alert conditions. There are also some individual alerts set for line crossing. I have a Windows 10 3.5 GH 6 core processor with 16G RAM. I upgraded memory after I inquired about this earlier. In my mind these alerts are not sofisticated compared to what your program is capable of. But regularly(when auto saving I assume) the program stalls for 10-15 seconds. Can you give me some issues to check or can I send you info on the alerts to see if I can decrease or eliminate the stalls? THe only thing I thought of is maybe the program is checking all of the columns regardless of whether they have calculations or not. Thanks for the help.

We recommend disabling automatic saving of Chartbooks in this case. The speed of saving a Spreadsheet might be improved upon in an upcoming release, but we cannot say for sure. Turning off the autosave eliminated the stalls. Thanks. Now to "Clearing Old Study and Other Data from Spreadsheets" that you referred me to, can I remove any rows with nothing in them, and also any rows that have all zeros and are not referenced in the study? Where can I save the original before I start cleaning the spreadsheets up so that I am able to return to original if what I do screws it up? Thanks again for the help. There are quite a few rows that qualify for the 2 criteria above.

What to delete is up to you. Just use common sense. There should be no problem deleting what you said. Also if a row is completely blank there is no reason to clear it. There are already backups made of Spreadsheets and they are in the \Backups subfolder of the Sierra Chart installation folder. So there is no need to make a backup.
