Using Zig Zag study I show only the text at swing H or L with swing price and leg distance in Ticks. However when opening and closing chartbooks or starting up Sierra not all the swing texts appear on chart - some swings are missing. But if I select Chart menu and then recalculate or refresh, the missing text appears. How do I avoid the recalculation/refreshing?

We would not expect a problem like this. When you notice this, provide an image of the chart showing this, following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/PostingInformation.php#Image And are you using the Zig Zag study you find within Analysis >> Studies? Before and after images. The 51.36 H is missing on first load of chartbook, appears on selecting recalculate. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507788277688.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507788322877.png |

We cannot accept these images because the Zig Zag line is not visible. We must see the Zig Zag line. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. OK well when I add the lines in, it acts like a recalculate/refresh and adds the missing text. The best I can do here is how before (missing text) and after (with zig zag lines). Missing text is 50.70 H. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507816747964.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507816856147.png |

We do not believe there is a problem. There is no way we can tell for sure without seeing the Zig Zag lines at all times. Also, for a reason which is not clear, there also appears to be a slight change in the bars between these two chart images. It could be due to scaling. Anyway, the difference between the labels might be due to the Input Data for High / Low Inputs not being set at default: Zig Zag: Inputs How do you have those set? There is an issue. I want to view Zig Zag without the lines, just showing text at swing points. Inputs are set to High and Low. The issue is still in pictures - I open chartbook and I get first picture, I then manually have to select recalculate chart and it updates to second image. Why is this not automatic? Thanks http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507883982777.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1507884008153.png |

We have to decline further support until we get chart images showing the zigzag lines. It is impossible for us to help otherwise. There is no point in making any further postings until we get what we require. You simply need to set the Zig Zag Subgraph to a visible Subgraph, which is the default, and then save the chart book. Chart with lines (but this is not how I am using it). Before and after hitting recalculate. Text 51.87 missing in first. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1508762040982.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1508762154441.png |

We will look into this. We would not have expected this because we thought this type of issue was previously resolved.

File attached with Zig Zag study. Most often the missing text is second to last swing from most current price.

It is not clear why there is a problem. We made some changes with Renko bars and also with the Zig Zag study. After the changes we were not able to reproduce the problem you had. You will need to update to Prerelease version 1629 when it becomes available today. Have updated to 1629, and this does seem to have solved issue. Thanks. However, created a new query in that I don't understand now how the most recent bar is being calculated/displayed. See attached. The previous down bar had a low of 51.01 but says Last was 51.06. Now the current bar does not seem to be updating as per Renko rules? The bar is way bigger than previous bar and has not changed to Renko brick? http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1509005184124.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1509005373892.png |

We know why this occurs. We have fixed it. We will put out a new revision now. This only affects Flex Renko bars under certain conditions. Also when looking at the last trade price of a bar you need to look at Renko Close. Not the true last. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
