Hi there, I was looking to use J31 - Maximum Open Position Profit in some of my calculations but I was monitoring this cell while I was in the trade and it just indicated 0 the whole time even though my current position was positive. Is there any additional settings required in order for this cell to report values? Is there another way to determine what the max profit has been on an open position? e.g Current open position ran up to a max profit of $100 then dropped down is currently sitting at $50, but the cell will be reporting $100. |

We will need to test this. Allow a few days.

We could not reproduce the problem. Was this with non-simulated trading? And if so, was the current Position displayed on the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab at the time the position was actually open?

This was on a non-simulated (live) trade. There was a position value at the time when it was reporting zero. Does the candle have to close in order for a value to report in this cell? And does it only update on closed candles? i.e. You get into a trade on a candle and this will report 0 until the candle closes. |

We do see a problem with this and we are looking this over. No, the bar does not have to close for it to update. It should be continuously updating. Also this area of functionality we plan to work on in the coming weeks and redevelop how all of this is implemented. We should be able to fix this issue today though. Actually our conclusion that there was a problem is incorrect. We were testing with LMAX not Interactive Brokers. Are you using the Order Fill Calculated Position as documented here: Trading Information Windows: Using Order Fill Calculated Positions In Special Cases If so, then this is the reason for the problem. We have solved this and solved it for LMAX as well. This will be in the next release coming out tomorrow. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I am currently not using Order Fill Calculated Position, and just obtaining the positions from Interactive Brokers. You indicated that using Order Fill Calculated Position will be resolved this week, however should it have been working if the positions were just being obtained from Interactive Brokers? |
