Is there a study or formula that will track delta for a value that I set. Say delta=400 or delta 800. I would like to use the changing delta value for other studies that would depend on that delta value up to the threshold I set. This would be hugely helpful to me. thank you.

By Delta do you mean difference? And the difference of what? Also, we really do not know what you mean by this: track delta for a value that I set.

Yes. The difference would be the difference of the bid-ask volume. Giving net delta volume. It would accumulate that delta up to a specified limit. Say delta =400. The study would accumulate the changing delta up to that specified setting (delta =400 in this example}. That study call it (id1.sg1) could then be used in some other studies I created. I been trying to create this study for a week now. Just need some help now. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-08-29 03:00:01

Use the Bid Volume versus Ask Volume study: Bid Volume vs Ask Volume It would accumulate that delta up to a specified limit. Say delta =400. It would reset and start over. Actually it would be identical to the delta volume bar under Chart Settings Bar Type. It would be the same formula used to accumulate those delta volume bars. Using the price overlay study referencing a delta bar chart say (delta=400) bid-ask volume does give me the running delta, BUT the problem is the destination chart is faster than the source chart if I use that study in further calculations. I hope I explained myself better. |

Therefore, the only thing we can recommend is to set the Bar Period Type in the chart to Delta Volume per Bar.

Would it be possible to have the source code or formula on how the delta volume per bar is created? Then I could figure out the rest.

No, this is not available. It is far too involved and not useful for users. When the absolute value difference between the Ask Volume and Bid Volume is equal to or greater than the specified Delta volume amount is what causes the bar to finish and a new bar to be started.
