The development and testing of the SOCKS 5 support in Sierra Chart version 1599 is done. This is really something long overdue as we have had occasional requests for this over the years. So we are happy it is now finally offered. Although we were not able to test username and password authentication because the proxy server we are testing with did not support that but we do not expect any issues with that. Use this link to access the updated installer: https://www.sierrachart.com/downloads/SierraChartFileDownloader.exe Press the "Proxy Settings" button. Choose the option to use a SOCKS 5 proxy server and enter those settings. Press OK. Proceed to install Sierra Chart. When Sierra Chart starts, at the login window quickly press the "Cancel" button. Press the "Proxy Settings" button and configure it in the same way you have the installer. Once the proxy is set up, all connectivity from Sierra Chart will be through the SOCKS 5 server. All Data and Trading services are supported except for TransAct or Rithmic because Sierra Chart does not use direct connectivity to these services. We would recommend using CQG, Trading Technologies, Cunningham Trading Systems, or the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Interactive Brokers is also another choice.
