I have had Sierra for several years and cannot seem to make the horizontal line work properly and keep the numbers attached to it. Have Sierra through Infinity Transact. Every time I use the horizontal line, the end of the line goes all the way to the edge of the page and when I cut the line to be shorter, the number disappers. I am looking for a short line with a number by it or under it that I can use in the middle of a chart for reference purposes. There must be a way, I have just tried for a long time to figure it out and haven't been able to do so yet. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sierra Chart Support |

What you describe does make sense. Cutting the line will cause the value label to be removed since it is not supported on a Line. A Line cannot have a value because it can be an angled line. Have you looked at the Horizontal Ray drawing tool? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. It happens when I am using the horizontal ray - that's the line I was talking about using in the original question. Is there any way to have a short horizontal line at a specific place on a chart with the value attached to the line without it having to be a three-step process of draw the line, cut the line and then type in the value? It's a lot of steps compared to what is available in other programs where you can simply draw a short horizontal line and the value stays with the line. |

Hi, I had similar issue - I would recommend possibility for horizontal RAY to be fixated (left end) with or without a value on the screen for % base from right side on the screen - similar like "chart trade" order line can be set. P.S. My issue was - I made the line and left end disappeared in the short time off screen, I was unable to adjust it to new levels - instead I needed to delete it and reopen new H - RAY... You can use the Chart Calculator tool and configure it to display the End Value on the line. This will do exactly what you want. Here is the documentation: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_Tools.html#ChartCalculator Whether you can see the left end of the Horizontal Ray does not prevent the adjusting of it as long as it is visible. We have no trouble doing that. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
