Can Chart Values/Crosshair display be customized to show # of tick increments per bar?
View Count: 1201

The Chart Values/Crosshair by default does not show the number of tick increments. As it stands, I have to hover the Chart Values/Crosshair over the bar, then visually count the number of tick increments. This is not a problem for the ZB or ZN, but a challenge for the 6E or 6J after a price spike.

So you want to know the range of a bar in ticks? This can be done through a study. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. So the answer is No? In other words, the Chart Values/Cross Hair, which shows high, low, etc., can not be customized to include the range of ticks in the same bar? If so, that's unfortunate. In any event, what is the name of the study you're referring to? And just to be clear, I want to quickly view the number of price increments, i.e., ticks, per bar from Open to the Close. 6E: 1.17265 to 1.17760 = 27 |

We need to make an update to the Bar Difference study to display the difference between the Open to Close in price ticks. We are doing that now and it will be out in a couple of hours. Assuming you made the update, I couldn't figure out the Bar Difference in terms of settings to make it do what I'm looking for. Seems to me that it would be a whole lot easier (at least for the traders) to have this info. as an additional data output on the cross hair. That way you could just hover over the bar and see the difference in price ticks without having to worry about taking up additional space on the chart with an another study.

Update Sierra Chart with Help >> Download Prerelease following these instructions: Software Download: Fast Update The name of the input that does this is: "Calculate Difference in Price Ticks". Set this to Yes. When you add the study to the chart, set it to display in Chart Region 1 and set the Bar Difference Subgraph Draw Style to "Ignore".
