Hello, I am trying to reach filtered data in spreadsheet, see only filtered data (no matter the condition, but for instance, volume > 10). Is there a way how to filter data in SC spreadsheet? I also tried use Excel, but I am getting a) "General error" in SC and b) live data are messy after filter set in Excel (nonsense numbers appears in the cells). Thank you! |

Set the chart filtering on the Chart Settings: Chart Settings: Volume Filter (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Volume Filter Settings menu) And then use the Spreadsheet Study on the chart: Overview of Spreadsheet Studies The chart data in the Sheet will then be filtered. We do not recommend using Excel from the Spreadsheet Study. It is unreliable. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I do not use volume only, but also some calculations in spreadsheet. I would like filter these output data from my equations. As far as I see it is not possible in spreadsheet study, correct? Any other possible way? Thank you! |

There is no way we can answer this question, unless we know exactly what you are trying to do.

Ok, please take a look at attached files. Sheet 1 - the source sheet in the spreadsheet study with live data. Sheet 2 - filtered data from Sheet 1. This what I am trying to get. Condition (in this case): Volume (ID0.SG5) > 100. Please, let me know. Thank you. |

Refer to: Referencing Other Charts in Spreadsheet Study Formulas: Referencing Other Charts in Spreadsheet Study Formulas You will want to overlay the data from the chart associated with Sheet 1 onto the chart associated with Sheet 2. Ok, I made following steps: 1. open first chart and applied spreadsheet study on it 2. in the spreadsheet study add Sheet2 3. open second chart 4. overlay data from first chart to the second chart (used Study/Price overlay study) I got the very same data on both sheets. Just to be sure, I will repeat what is my goal. I have a chart with spreadsheet study. Every row of the spreadsheet represents one bar of the chart. Does not matter what data contains (volume for instance can be 10, 23, whatever). Row by row is bar by bar. This is what I automatically get in Sheet1. I want to have Sheet2 with filtered value only (for example only rows with "volume>100"). I do not want to use Volume Filter in chart setting, this not the way, "volume>100" is just example, I am using some more math not only volume. Thank you, really appreciate your help. |

You need to create a custom chart using ACSIL that removes the chart bars that you do not want on the Spreadsheet Sheet. So when the Spreadsheet study is used on that chart, you will not see those rows any longer. Here is the relevant documentation: ACSIL Interface Members - Variables and Arrays: sc.IsCustomChart Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. It is a great idea! I have the ASCIL code done, but facing one issue. When my condition for new bar is met, this bar appears couple of times on the bar. If I open Studies window and click on "Apply" repeated bars disappear and chart is OK. May I ask you about help? Do you have a clue where the problem could be? Thank you! |
