Is there a way to test to see what the ratio is at a certain price? For example if I am using just a plain Vol x Price study, can I test to see if there was a 3 to 1 ratio of buyers to sellers traded at 50.00 ? If not with the Vol x Price then which study do you recommend? Also, can I do this with the number bars study? If I use the study subgraph ratio, it calculates for the vertical and not the horizontal.

I think Sierra Charts are the best.

Thanks in advance.

Yes this can be done. It does not require any particular study.

It just requires an Alert Condition Formula which can be set even on the main price graph through Chart Settings.

Here is the documentation for Alerts:

Specifically you will want to use these special functions in the formula:

SC or anyone that would know:

I wasn't clear enough in my question.

What if I want to test for a 3 to 1 ratio at each level in a Volume by Price chart. For example, if any level has a 3 to 1 ratio of ask value to bid value.

So far I have tried =(BVAP (C,0) *3 > AVAP(C,0) and it only highlights the last horizontal price row that meets the condition of that bar...in this case a 10 minute bar. It doesn't highlight each price in the vol x price chart that meets or exceeds the 3 to 1 level.

What am I doing wrong?

For this you need to use the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study. Here is the documentation for it:

We realize, some updates need to be done to the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study and documentation in order to improve the Inputs and to make them technically accurate.

We are doing this now and we will have a new release out tomorrow.

Thanks, SC. I was just going to mention that I didn't know how to test for the IN: but only for the SG.

My question is -- did you get time to get that done? I didn't see it in the version update notes.

Yes, this is now done. You can update to the current version of Sierra Chart for the latest updates.

With the problems in the replay function I am now afraid to update for fear that something else will go wrong. :)

I will give it a try.

The latest version has been tested. And one of the users said they are not experiencing that replay back test freezing condition any longer. In any case, the latest version has additional logging for us to isolate the problem if it were to occur.

In general, we would not expect anything else to be wrong. This is very unlikely.

The update went smoothly and is working great using the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study. However, I also have the Bid & ask prices study on the chart. Both of them are set to draw style of point and size 7. Now the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study paints over the current Bid & ask price study. In other words, I can't see both of them. Do you recommend a way to move the Bid & Ask price to the right side of the VxP candle?

I think SC charts are the best.

Also, if the size of a price in the VxP is zero, for example 0 x 23, the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 study will not draw the point at that price. How do I fix this since that is clearly more than 2 to 1 at that price and the point should be drawn there ?

Thanks in advance.
