Hi,

Is there any chance of setting up say 10 ladders on a screen and replaying the market over a period of time? We trade multiple products and it would be highly beneficial if we could watch the entire market trade instead of just a limited amount of contracts at once.

Also is it just CME products you can watch the replay of? We are after Sydney Futures Exchange products.

Thank you

Yes this is supported. Here are the instructions:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ReplayChart.html#ReplayingTradeDOM

If you have 10 different symbols you want to replay through a Trading DOM, then you will need to have 10 standard charts open for each of those symbols and replay those according to the instructions we linked to above.

Also is it just CME products you can watch the replay of? We are after Sydney Futures Exchange products.
You can replay any symbol your instance of Sierra Chart has Intraday chart data for.

Sorry the cost structure doesnt seem that clear to me. So it was cost $33US per month to use? Is that correct?

If i want to use the playback functionality are there any other costs? Do I need a trading platform like CQG to provide the data?

Thank you

The cost of 33 USD per month is for the Advanced Service Package.

There is no other costs for replay functionality.

If you just require historical data you do not require access to CQG or any other external service. You can use the included Sierra Chart Historical Data Service:

Who provides the data?

If I have a CQG I simply hook it up and run it from there?

Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
The data is provided by Sierra Chart if you are using the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service.

The question as to who provides the data, is not such an easy question to answer because we obtain data from various sources who also may in some cases obtain it from other sources. In the case of CME data, we get that direct from the exchange feeds.

If you want to use your CQG account, then follow the instructions here:

I have just downloaded the Sierra platform. I am having some issues trying to use replay functionality. Is all the data already on the system without me having to do anything (provide data to backtest)?

What problem are you having specifically? You can see the data you want to replay in the Intraday chart. The replay functionality simply replays what you can already see within the chart.

Hi, here is a link to a video that demonstrates how to setup Sierra to replay multiple DOMs/Ladders:
https://youtu.be/H1fx_PlsPjM
It was created based on the above-mentioned support pages (Replaying Trade DOM).
Hope this helps.

OK, tell us another symbol.

You should receive Intraday data for symbols like ESU17.

You are not going to get Intraday data for any futures contracts on the ASX.

Hi,

There may have been some previous confusion, most likely caused by me, so I'll walk through exactly what I want to do.

I work in a prop trading firm and want to use the playback function to review some previous economic figures in certain contracts. I initially brought up CQG, my trading system, thinking of using their data feed with Sierra. This has probably been the cause of confusion.

Currently all I have done is download Sierra and am trying to use the playback function but I can't get the intraday data in any contract. My understanding was that Sierra provided all data for me to use the playback feature and I didn't need to contact any broker/data provider. Is this correct? Or do I need to contact one of those providers you mentioned to obtain access to their data?

Also do you have a direct email?

Thank you

You can use your CQG account to access data but it has to be properly configured. Here are the instructions for that:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

These are the account requirements:
CQG Trading Platform Service: CQG Account Requirements

Your CQG account also must be enabled for historical data.

For the particular exchange you want, you will need to use CQG. Assuming you can connect to your CQG account from Sierra Chart.

The best way to communicate with us, is through this Support Board.

So if we are with ABN we cannot use Sierra? Or Macquarie?
[2017-08-18 04:18:21]
Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
Yes you can. You just need to have either of those clearing firms contact CQG and say they want to have one of their customers use Sierra Chart with CQG.

CQG will then contact us about that.

We apologize for the difficulty, but all of this is just the procedures that have to be gone through, to get through the requirements of CQG.
