I have a weekly chart. I want to manually add data for each week and graph it on the chart in another region. Then I want to take this data that I've added and extract new columns by using a formula and then graph that separately. I'm using the spreadsheet study. It looks like I'm supposed to add my data starting on column K but once I've input everything it changes every line of data to what is in the first row. Is this the wrong study to do what I want? The first step is to add the lines of data that I have so that I can graph them. Please advise and steer me in the right direction. Thanks.

Ok. If I can just get the data in there to work with on my chart I can figure everything else out. Specifically I'm creating a COT chart and I'm adding 3 new columns of data that will show the net short or net long positions for: 1. Commercials 2. Large Speculators 3. Small Speculators Each week will have a value for each of these that I will want to plot in a region below the weekly candlestick chart. I see the section on manually creating a data file with supported formats but I don't see anything with what I want to do. Can my columns be anything I want or do they have to be open, close, open interest, bid, ask, etc like the format suggests? Please advise. Thank you. |

Refer to: Spreadsheet Studies Special Tasks: Using Different Formulas or Data at Each Row of the Formula Columns (K-Z) Can my columns be anything I want

Ok I added my 3 columns of data under columns AS, AT, and AU of the spreadsheet. I then started at column K and put '=AS3' then '=AT3' for column L, then '=AU3' for column M. It has populated all of the values down the column so this appears to look good. Each cell in these columns has a small triangle in the upper right. What does that mean? I'm expecting to have the chart graph these 3 columns in the region I've chosen but it shows only 2 of them and the values are incorrect. Plus it stops in the middle of 2016 and my values are inputted up through last week. What am I missing? I do not have values in the 3rd row as this is a weekly chart and I do not have values for this week yet. For 'first row to graph' I entered 4 since the values start at this row. I've attached my settings for the study. Please advise. |

Actually this is within the scope of your support. Your indicator isn't working. I know if it was up to you guys you'd pass every question that takes more than 5 seconds to answer to a 3rd party but I need help with this.........from you. It'll probably take you 2 minutes to review my spreadsheet and tell me what's wrong but you're telling me you want me to go pay someone else to help me. I'm not asking for you to create a formula for me. I know you don't help with that. I just want this indicator that you have within your support to work properly and that's why I pay you each and every month. I've attached the spreadsheet. You have my settings. Please take a quick look and help me get this straight. Thanks. |

If you want to pay for our support it is at 75 USD per hour and only in our available time. This is not something that is included in our standard support offerings. Respectfully we are declining further support. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. When did this change? You used to be really helpful. I'm afraid that not every single answer can be addressed in your archives. Sometimes there are items outside the box that don't quite fit. I understand that this is how you choose to run your support and I'm sure it saves a lot by not taking phone calls but you're getting a little too much satisfaction in telling me that it's $75 per hour to get a question answered....................and that you'll do it when you feel like it. Does that make you feel good? I get that you don't want to answer questions on creating formulas. I see all over the web that you go above and beyond to help others on their issues. Up until now I've been very happy with your services but this is extremely disappointing. |

Each cell in these columns has a small triangle in the upper right. What does that mean?
This means the cell has a formula; it is not empty.Plus it stops in the middle of 2016 and my values are inputted up through last week.
The Number of Rows is set to 1000. Do you have more than 1000 rows of data? Values in Formula Columns will plot horizontally (not in columns) with each spreadsheet row corresponding to a chart price bar. The most recent bar is in row 3, and earlier bars are in rows below. If values are similar in each column, columns to the right might overplot those to the left. Also, a word of caution: be careful when adding studies, or increasing the Number of Formula columns, as study outputs or new blank columns could overwrite your data in AS, AT, AU. |

Thanks for the reply Tom. I'm on board with everything you're saying but it's not even close to working. When I added the cells into the spreadsheet I just copied and pasted from excel. Is there a special way I need to add them? I can see all of the values in the columns. Thanks again.

I did a quick test and it works for me. See pic. I copied/pasted from Excel into AS, AT, AU. |

Ok. Looks good. I'll play around with it some more. If I can't get it to work I'll reach out to you by email. Thanks for testing it.
