Hi,

I had an unexpected computer system restart today (blue screen). I regularly save my Chartbook throughout the day.

When I reloaded Sierra Chart all drawings and text that I had added to my chart that day were gone, as well as a number of the changes I had made to tool settings. This is not the first time this has happened (power outage another time) which resulted in similar.

Other than saving and shutting down Sierra Chart each day is there a way to ensure the chart objects and settings can be saved if there is ever an unexpected outage and Sierra Chart shuts down unexpectedly?

Thanks.

Yes, Refer to:
General Settings Window: Auto-Save Chartbooks (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Chartbooks)

Ok thanks so I did this. And still if I force my computer to shut down without properly closing Sierra Chart down I lose my chart objects and any changes to tool settings. The link you sent it simply an automatic way of saving the chartbook, which I am doing manually now anyway throughout the day. So my issue is what happens to Sierra Chart when there is a forced shut down of the application and why does the tool setting changes and objects go missing? It is like you have to shut the application down orderly for the save function to work.

Chart objects are contained within Chartbooks, so those most definitely will not be lost.

When you refer to tool settings are you referring to changing them through Global Settings >> Tool Configs?
