Using: Text display for study. Would like to display the total volume printed so far for the day. Doesn't work with volume by price study so which study do I use? |

The easiest thing to do is to add the Daily Volume field to the Chart Header. I only want to see the daily volume. I want to glance at this figure and not have to find whats going on in that long line of data. I went into the advanced settings and disabled all except for volume (as per the screenshot) but it ignores the settings change and everything just stays.

That is the wrong place. You need to use Global Settings >> Customize Chart Header: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GlobalSettingsMenu.html#CustomizeChartHeader You also have the ability to reverse the color of the field. You can use a larger text study, but that is more involved and less accurate. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Grant, I use the daily volume, attached is a screeny of my RTH /ES chart that shows the daily VOL in the upper left of the image. It's simple to set up and is documented in the additional files page. Additional Files (Study Collections, Spreadsheets, Chartbooks) |

Hello, I'm trying to find out how User173602 was able to put a label displaying daily volume on his chart as shown in his attachment "5MIN_ES_RTH.jpg" . I went to the link in his post (Additional Files (Study Collections, Spreadsheets, Chartbooks)). The only study I could find that seemed like it might work was #28 "Large_Last_Price_Display-.StdyCollct". When applied to the chart, it creates a study that will allow you to display volume for the bar period... but there is no option I can see for "Daily Volume". Am I looking at the wrong study? Thanks |

gjockey It uses the following study: Text Display For Study Basically you're pulling a value from a different chart that has a study (and associated value) and displaying it as text on a respective chart of your choice. In this case I'm pulling the value for the ES on a daily time frame and displaying it on a shorter time frame chart as a text / numeric value. |

You would have to have a separate Daily chart and then use the Text Display for Study from Chart study. Refer to the information here: Text Display For Study from Chart For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
