Moving Data folder

Can I move the Data folder from (C:)>Sierra Chart>Data to another drive, and redirect the software to find it there for normal operations? If so, quick how to? (I know how to move it of course, but the redirecting part - I don't want to experiment with this at this time).

Thank you

Okay worked that out just fine; however, can't seem to do the same for the data files of Sub-Instances. I was also sure to uncheck the "Always use data folder within main folder" tick box in General Settings on each sub-instance. Please advise.

Thanks,

Ben

We would have to check but you probably cannot use a nonstandard Data folder for a sub instance.

It would always revert to the standard folder.

Okay thanks, please let me know.

My primary data folder had reached 19 GB in size, and 1 of the Sub-instances is about 6 GB.

If there's tips and tricks to reducing the size of an overgrown data folder, please advise. I do use monthly charts for a couple instruments, but I wouldn't think OHLC data is very big.

We have verified this is not supported for sub instances. We do not want to make any changes with this to avoid unexpected complications.
