Build 1506 BitBlt error Windows error code 6 Invalid Handle Errors

Hi,

I just upgraded to Build 1506 however when using updated build the message windows keeps displaying errors such as the following :

@ES# Daily #1 | BitBlt error. Windows error code 6: The handle is invalid. | 2017-01-15 17:33:37 *
I'm not sure whether these errors are causing other issues but having the message log appearing constantly is a pain.

Please advise.

We added logging to determine if there is an error with the bit block graphics transfer for charts.

We would not normally expect this to be the case. And we would certainly not expect it to be the case subsequently after the chart has been opened. We do not notice this ourselves.

In the next release which we will have out today, we will make changes to the logging so it does not cause a problem.

I've rolled back to 1505 and the error messages are no longer appearing. Will await the next update.

Likewise, in 1506 (and prerelease 1507) a chart book that works in 1505 is causing the program to crash. Nothing appears in the message log nor any pop-up windows errors. Is there any logging I can access to provide you with more detail?

What you are experiencing is completely different.

We have no other reports of an abnormal shutdown problem. Sounds like it would be caused by a custom study. Refer to help topic 17:

I've got the same issue in 1506 (with no custom studies):

It is interesting some users are experiencing this. This is indicating some lower-level operating system issue you are having on your system especially if it is ongoing.

For what it's worth it started with version 1506.

Version 1506 has logging for this and the logging has been removed in version 1507.

But still the underlying problem is actually occurring and has been going on in all versions.

We do not notice this error and most users do not based upon the fact that we only have a few users reporting this.

Just update to 1507. One thing we would be curious about is after updating to 1507 if you notice any flicker of the charts.

We have no idea what you should check or any advice to resolve this.

ok I upgraded to 1509 (what I got from Help >> Download Prerelease) and the issue has gone away. I think it was only occurring when I was connecting to my pc via remote desktop.

You are correct. The prerelease is 1509. 1507 is the current release and may also have this problem resolved as well.
