hi, I have a problem with spreadsheet for Trading. I'm usig two different timeframes for confirmations and to generate signals when the conditions are met. I'm usig a higher timeframe to see if the price is below or above Moving average. here I use LSMA Above/Below Last to get 1 or -1 in my spreadsheet. The problem is, naturaly, that the rows does not match for my lower and higer time frame in spreadsheet. I use Overlay (Bar) study to link the higher timeframe to spreadsheet. When I synchronize them the moving avarages is not drawn ok as on the original chart. Because the gaps are filled and and MA is calculated based on theem aswell. So basicaly i can't get the right numbers in the speadsheet. I.e. when rhe conditons are met on the lower time frame and the last is above/below MA it should generate a signal. Is there another way to link a different chart with different timeframe to one of the sheets? thnx |

I have compensated the gap fill with the moving average set x2 since the higher timeframe chart is 2 times larger. I'm not sure if this is right. I tryed to link a chart to new sheet by right clicking the "set chart link" in Sheet2. I get This command is not supported in his version of AtChart (package3). i'm using Infinity as a broker. Is it possible to set a chart link in Package5? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2013-08-05 14:54:44

You need to use the Study/Price Overlay study instead. This is documented here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ReferencingChartsFormulas.html There is no need for chart linking for what you are doing and that command has been removed in newer versions.
