Hi, I want to enter a stop order but it becomes a stop-limit order instead. Steps to reproduce on chart of 6E-201309-CME futures contract: right-click chart, select "buy stop". The resulting order is "StopLmt" with a 20 tick limit offset. Settings: Chart Trade Window / Menu button> Use Stop-Limit Orders On Chart DOM (unchecked) Chart Trade Window / Set tab / Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset / Primary Orders: 1 Chart Trade Window / Set tab / Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset / Attached Orders: 1 Chart Trade Window / Set tab / Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset / Offset Type: ticks How can I enter a stop order? Thanks. |

This is governed by CME rule on Stop Logic and Protection Points. See http://www.cmegroup.com/globex/introduction/features-and-functionality/elements/trading-sessions.html It has nothing to do with SC. Basically all stop market orders that are submitted via Globex will be converted to stop limit orders. This is their way to ensure that you get filled. For 6E, the "protection points" is 20 ticks |

No, your stops will continue to function as expected. I have yet to see one of my stops executed at a worse fill than a market order.
