Is there any function allowing us to draw horizontal lines and extended rectangles at areas defined in a text file? The text file could also have the preferred thickness, colour and the text display for the lines. Thanks |

You would have to custom develop this by using ACSIL: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Contents.php#AdvancedCustomStudySystemInterfaceandLanguage Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I think it is something you should seriously think about. Investor RT and Bookmap they both have it. In most of the rooms I am a member of, areas of interests are sent by a text file that could be loaded (with minor modification) in at least the charts above. I update my support/ resistance lines frequently. It is very inefficient when I want to do replay, as I have to erase all current ones from my chart and reenter all the previous ones again. If I could do it from a text file I would just use the one I have for replay day. Regards Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-09-28 08:50:31

Sierra Chart for years has supported a far more advanced method of doing this. The use of a text file is a very antiquated method. Rather than a text file, these are requested from a remote server in the case where a trading educator or trading room wants to provide levels to display on a chart. You can also use the Spreadsheet Study to accomplish this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I would also like to see this feature added. Though outdated, it's still used by many educators. Are there any references to doing this using the spreadsheet studies? |

Here is documentation for the Spreadsheet study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesSystemsAlerts.php#Instructions You can simply enter the level values into the spreadsheet cells beginning with K3. If you have a tab delimited list of values you can paste them into the spreadsheet. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. It's actually really easy doing this using the spreadsheet study method. Is there any way to extend the line created to include the right-side margin?
