Thanks for creating this indicator with the ability to specify the subgraph, it really helps my trading. I thought it would work a bit differently, though, and I'm hoping it still can.

I've created an alert that is meant to give me buy and sell signals only *after* a particular indicator reaches a very high or low reading--if the threshold is reached, then give buy/sell signals for the rest of the day, but not before. My time period is the CME futures day session.

The high/low for time period indicator makes one line at the high and one line at the low of the entire time period that I specify. Because of this, when I look back at my historical data to try to determine if my signals are working, I see signals triggering before the actual triggering event. In other words, if the indicator I'm using doesn't reach that threshold reading until, say, 3pm on a given day, I still will see signals earlier than 3pm when I look back at my charts. Obviously, it doesn't affect my buy/sell signals real time because the indicator can't look into the future, it just makes reviewing my charts after the fact much harder.

So what I was hoping for was to have the indicator show the high and low for the time period *only up until the current bar*, just like the highest high/lowest low over N bars indicator. So, if the high for an indicator was 50 all day, then at 3pm it increased to 100, I'd like that indicator to show 50 until 3pm, then from 3pm until the end of my time period, show 100 (unless it reaches a higher value after 3pm but before the end of my time period). I attached a screen shot to make it clearer.

Is this possible?

The exact study name is "High/Low for Time Period" and in the "Based on" dropdown I'll be selecting MACD. The input data high and input data low are both MACD.

This is a useful study, can you enable it to work the same for daily charts also?

No, High/Low for Time Period cannot possibly work on a Daily chart. Only Intraday charts.
