This morning repeatedly running into problems with ameritrade connection. Ameritrade says it is a sierra chart issue. I will appreciate any insights you can provide. Hello, sc feed will not solve problem of putting trading orders. Here is a specific question for you after speaking to Ameritrade again. Is Sierra limiting the number of simultaneous connections from different sierra instances to ameritrade? According to ameritrade rep, ameritrade does not limit number of connections but sierra may be doing so. If I leave only one sierra instance open, problem goes away. |

Sierra Chart places no restrictions at all with real-time connections to external services. However, TD Ameritrade does have a limitation to our knowledge of one connection per username. narrowed down to an ameritrade server issue. ameritrade has many servers and they allow 3rd party programs to switch servers. is there a setting in sierra to switch server? not asking for a new feature. just asking for info on software as it exists. thx |

No, there is not a way to switch servers. We do not even know what the other server addresses are. We are only aware of one address for the TD Ameritrade streamer.

Update Sierra Chart to the latest Prerelease: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate The setting is Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Streamer Address Override. It needs to start with https:// However, you really need to use a better data feed and we recommend the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.
