Hi Instead of time lines - I want to have coloured boxes appear on my chart highlighting for example the New York open how do I do this please - can the top and bottom edges of the box be set to reflect the high and the low price for the session i have tried the time range highlight but this gives me a box to the top and bottom of the screen and is not desirable Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-07-29 01:13:18

Perhaps use both the Time Range Highlight and the Initial Balance with that set to Transparent Rectangle Fill to Bottom/Top That way you have your rectangle with high and low for your desired period that spans your screen and a vertical strip showing you when it occurred. If you want H/L for the entire session you could use Period Variable OHLC with Transparent Rectangle Fill but then all the bars would be within your rectangle so not sure that is what you want |

You need to use the Time Line study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s181 There is nothing else available. There is something available. Strange the guys from support don't even know.;-) Use the study 'High/Low for Time Period'. For settings see the attached files. |

Yes using what is described in post #4 would make sense. can the top and bottom edges of the box be set to reflect the high and the low price for the session
Previously when we read the above, we did not take note of "session". And they wanted to highlight the open they said. So we thought the appropriate study would be Time Line. We were thinking they wanted just the high to low of the first bar of the open highlighted. That does not really make sense because you can already see that. And it does not make sense to use High/Low for Time Period for a single bar because there can be associated problems with that when in the chart bar time frame is changed.
