Hello, I'm currently trading simulated on SC only. For some reason, I cannot work out the trade activity log. Although I have taken mutliple trades, they do not reflect in the trade statistics of the log. It still says $0. I understand this is only showing non-sim trades and the sim trades are on the trade stats for charts tab only? Also yesterday after flattening a position on the dom, the daily P/L remained at zero. How is this possible? Also I do not understand the fill to fill vs flat to flat and also the time that the trade statistics use when calculating the day break? I could really use some help as I am not sure if I have set everything up correctly. Thanks a lot |

Although I have taken mutliple trades, they do not reflect in the trade statistics of the log. It still says $0.
The first step is to use the Trade Activity tab of the Trade Activity Log to make sure the order fills are there. Follow these instructions:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php . I understand this is only showing non-sim trades and the sim trades are on the trade stats for charts tab only? This is not correct. The Trade Activity Log can show both simulated and non-simulated trading. Also yesterday after flattening a position on the dom, the daily P/L remained at zero. How is this possible? Refer to this page: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DailyProfitLossValue.html Also I do not understand the fill to fill vs flat to flat Refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php#OrderFillMatchingMethods Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalTradeSettings.html#DailyStatsResetTime I would like to keep the time set to the actual CME server time, so that I have the correct day breaks when the trading day closes in chicaco. How do I go about this? Thanks. |

Therefore, set the Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >>Daily Stats Reset Time to 17:00:00

Thank you. Does this also apply to the chart daybreaks?

One thing that we did not mention is that the setting of 17:00:00 assumes that the global time zone setting in Sierra Chart is set to US Eastern time: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TimeZone.html What time zone setting are you using? For the Vertical Grid used in the chart, that follows the Session Times. Thank you. I have set it to Chicago time, and 17:00 so this should now accurately reflect the CME trading day? Also is there a way to display the globex session and/or the rth session only? And if so is it possible to make them visually different (different background colour) the way Think or Swim does it? |

In the case of using Chicago time, change the Daily Stats Reset Time to 16:00:00. Also is there a way to display the globex session and/or the rth session only?
Yes this is done through the Session Times for the chart:https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SessionTimes.php To highlight the background according to a time range, use this study: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s278 Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks again for that. Regarding the session times, can I just apply the default session times for that instrument rather than having to set it up for every instrument? This is a very error prone approach and I'm sure I'll get it wrong...

Sierra Chart does not provide default session times for futures. However, we could set these up for you. Give us the main markets that you trade.
