The volume for Pnf charts is always wrong. This understandable because, for example, a 1x3 PnF will not start a new column until price has moved 3 pts. in the opposite direction. So, for example, a down column will make a bottom at 100, then the TIME when this down column ENDS is not until price has gone up to 103, this is the CLOSE of the down column in TIME and VOLUME, but it is not truly the TIME when 100 was reached. I understand this how the PnF chart is constructed. I would just like to know if it is possible to somehow get the true volume for each up and down column? For example, a 1 minute PnF set at .25x12 and a 1 minute OHLC chart with a Zig Zag Accumulated volume set for a 3 point zigzag and then reference the true zigzag volume and have it plot below the corresponding PnF column. Both charts will make tops and bottoms at the same price and time, the TIME and VOLUME of the zigzag accumulated volume is correct, but as mentioned above the PnF TIME and VOLUME is not. |

For a more accurate chart like this use Reversal Bars. This is set through Chart Settings: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ChartSettings.html#TimePeriodPerBar These are like Point and Figure charts. Although they are much more efficiently created. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
