Hello, there was a delay of about a minute and a half on the Euro (Cable and oil spreads from what I hear from the room). Has easy screen done anything to resolve this? Thanks

We are not aware they have done anything.

We can help with this to some extent on our side by evenly distributing the symbols among the several different FIX connections.

We have done some of this already but there is some additional changes we can make . We will be doing that towards the end of this week.

Also what time is this occurring? Is this at the 930 a.m. open in New York?

It occurs at the 8:00 London open, as far as I have seen, the 09:30 New York open has got much better and there is rarely any lag/none to notice.

Therefore, we do not think there is anything we can do on our side to improve upon the delay at the 8 a.m. London open.

What is one of the specific symbols this happens with and we will let Easy Screen know about this.

We want to gather more information to give to Easy Screen.

Does this delay consistently occur around that time?

Hello, I'm getting a severe delay with corn spreads (CTAF:ZC) what causes this? Thanks

Actually, we just realized why this occurs. We need to change the reconnect time to an earlier time. This was to avoid problems with the EUREX symbols, but that is on a different connection.

The response at post #9 is regarding the delay you see with the outright contracts.

Hello, I'm getting a severe delay with corn spreads (CTAF:ZC) what causes this? Thanks
This is something that we really do not think is practical to solve because there are a lot of symbols being tracked on the spread connections. The problem is the Easy Screen data feed starts to lag when there are more than 100 symbols on a connection and there are 1000 symbols being tracked on each of the spread connections. This is an issue on the Easy Screen side.

We trust you did not see a delay this morning?

Although we would expect that the spreads will continue to lag behind.

Hello, no delay on the London open, it was pretty smooth. I am waiting for my risk manager to come in and then I will speak with him about Easy Screen, hopefully the spreads can be solved soon enough. Thanks for all of your help.

Yes we would hope they will solve it. There should not be any delay.

Although, it just occurred to us that with spreads probably the same problem is actually occurring due to the daily reconnect. We are going to disable that now.

Let us know how the spreads are in a few hours.

At the very least this is part of the problem.

All of the internal daily reconnects we have been doing with Easy Screen have now been disabled other than for the EUREX connection. This now occurs at 7:55 Brussels time.

The reason we started to do this a few months ago is that we would hear that the EUREX contracts are not updating so we would manually do a reconnect and that would correct the problem. So we made this automated and did it for all of the connections thinking it was a good idea to avoid these kinds of problems.

All the reconnection should never be necessary.
