Hello,

When an order is filled, for some reason three order events and alert sounds are triggered. Is there a way to prevent this so that only a single alert sound is triggered when an order is filled?

Thanks,
Markus

No there is not because what happened was there were three separate order fills because the order filled partially multiple times.

Is that possible? It's an order for a single futures contract, so it seems strange that it would fill partially three times. It's also happening exactly three times on every order.

Therefore, you have set the particular Alert Number to play a sound three times. Refer to:

The setting "Number of times to play this alert" is set to 1. Here is a screenshot of those settings.

Put Sierra Chart into Trade Simulation Mode and perform simulated trading and see if you notice the same problem.

We only get one alert per fill when we perform a test.

Yes, in Trade Simulation Mode it works as expected, only one alert. It looks like the bug is in Interactive Brokers or in the integration with Interactive Brokers?

Are you trading on a financial advisor account?

If so, that can be the reason for the problem and we have no solution to it.

After looking at the code we do not see how we can provide a solution to this. It must be Interactive Brokers specific.

Ah, yes, I am trading on a financial advisor account. It must be sending a notification for the master account and each of the two subaccounts. It's quite disappointing that their API is broken in this way! Thank you for taking the time to look into the problem.

Their API is not broken, it is just that it is not possible to reliably interface to the financial advisor API.

They really need to redesign it.

One thing they came to mind is perhaps we could put a filter in if there is an overflow detection. Just that we are hesitant to do these kinds of patches.

Eventually we will get to adding the capability in Sierra Chart to place orders to multiple accounts from one controlling account.
