Blue Screen Crash!

SC or anyone who can help:

When I open a browser and then begin watching a video on Youtube for example, or any another site that plays video streams, at the same time as I have Sierra Charts open, I get the dreaded blue screen after the video has played for about 5 minutes give or take, with an error message as follows:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I have tried using 3 different browsers and still the same problem. All my drivers and software are up to date.

If I run Sierra while surfing the net or checking my e-mail, all is ok. If I watch an online video when Sierra is closed, all is ok. The only time the problem seems to happen is when Sierra is open and I try to stream an online video at the same time, as mentioned above.

This crashing problem happens on my windows vista machine running dual core AMD processors. On my windows 10 machine, it does not happen. The win 10 machine did get a bit jumpy once and I closed down the video and then started it back again, and, all was well. The win 10 machine did not completely freeze and give the blue screen like the vista machine did, however. I have used Sierra for many years with no problems on the vista machine. The problems seems to have started about
1 or 2 months ago.

I seems like some type of conflict where the two are trying to share the same resources and one or the other will not play well in this environment, but, I am not a computer whiz so I thought you may have a fix for this?

Thanks in advance.

Update to Windows 7 or Windows 10, and we recommend an Intel quad core processor with at least 8 GB of memory.

In general we do not know specifically what is causing the problem but we do not recommend using Vista, no one would, and Intel processors are faster than AMD's.

SC:

I think I found the cause of the blue screen conflict that I was experiencing on one of my computers. I think it was caused by my virus checker software. All I did was allow the silent mode operation when the computer is busy and it seems to have fixed my problem. Hopefully, this info. will help another trader. Who knows for sure what computers do? It is still a mystery to me. :)

Good trading to all.
