Time to load data (populate charts) very long w/ CQG

Hi,

I am with AMP and switched from TTNet to CQG today in order to gain access to the ICE. Apart from the relatively frequent disconnect issues which I see are reported elsewhere, I have two issues I wanted to inquire with Sierra about.

The first issue is the incredible increase in wait time for charts to be populated with data on initial loading. With TTNet, these charts (including price change charts) usually loaded/populated within seconds or perhaps rarely a minute. Since switching to CQG, the load/populate time has increased to sometimes perhaps 20 minutes?!?!? This is especially bad with ES, but load times for all the CME group contracts are much much longer. ICE contracts are longer too, but perhaps less so.

The second issue is that with TTNet I could see the top line of the price in the DOM (I have top of book quotes). Meaning I could see the number of contracts sitting at the Bid and the Ask for one price each. With my new CQG connection, I see the top of the book for a brief moment and then they disappear. I continue to get data and see the number of trades executed at the bid and the ask and the price change but no single line of numeric data in the primary bid and ask columns of the DOM as I was getting with TTNet. Is this normal or a malfunction?

While I may try Rithmic too, can you comment on how my experience with any of these above issues may proceed with a Rithmic feed?

Thanks for your attention.

1. This does not make sense. The time to load chart data from the local data file or download historical data will not change depending upon whether you are using TT or CQG.

Refer to help topic 30:

With such extreme times, this may be related to antivirus/anti-malware software.

2. It sounds like the market depth data request is getting rejected from CQG because your account is not authorized for depth.

We have implemented a solution to this kind of problem in the newer releases of Sierra Chart. Update Sierra Chart to the latest release following the instructions here:

In our opinion we would avoid Rithmic. But this is our opinion only.
