If I'm not using attached orders and want to manually add stops and targets after entry by right clicking in the chart and selecting the sub menu, how do I keep the default order mode in the chart window from changing? For example, my default order mode in the trade window is set to market orders. I enter long and then right click in the chart and add a set a sell limit order. My default order mode in the chart window now changes to limit. I want to stop this from happening. How can I do that? |

The Trade Window will change its Order Type selection based upon the last order type used with Chart Trading or the Order Entry Ladder (Chart DOM). There is no way to prevent this. Perhaps you'll consider functionality like that which the CTS DOM has and allow users to send exit order independently of entry with one click.

You can certainly do single click trading by using the Chart DOM and disabling order confirmations: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ChartTrading.html#ChartDOM You can also use the Send Attached Orders order type to send Attached Orders after thee main parent order: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_OrderTypes.html#SendAttachedOrders Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
