Hi SC, I sent the log for analysis, because I am having a challenge with the software. I would like to understand why the software is reporting this condition.

is there a limit on the amount of chartbooks or charts one can have open at a single time? I closed a chart book with forex symbols and now everything is working again, but I am truly have troubles with the forex data anyhow. It seems the data ends around July 2014 and then begins with november which is the time I openend the chartbook after some time.

What you are doing with Sierra Chart is using too much memory and CPU usage.

Refer to this section here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_WorkingWithCharts.html#OutOfMemoryCondition

If an Intraday chart is missing data, then refer to the documentation here for that:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html#RetryDownloadDataInChart

Also refer to help topic 30:

Specifically refer to help topic 30.34:

I have ten screens and probably 200+ charts with about 40% being TPO and VbP charts. I also do extensive discretionary testing and I require a larger number of days to load setting while having various simulated live trading chartbooks open simultaneously. Is there anything on the table for increasing the memory capacity?

The general solution to this is to install multiple copies of Sierra Chart and share data among the different copies. This is documented here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/MultipleServices.html

However, we need to write up specific documentation for this. However, look at the existing documentation and you should be able to figure it out anyway.

Based upon what you are doing, this is an absolute must that you set up multiple copies of Sierra Chart on your system. This will distribute the processing load. We probably would recommend one for every monitor . So the capability exists now to accomplish what you want.

I would also like to know how this affects my sc real-time data feed, if i should have more than one instance of sc running at a time.

You can see the memory use in Windows Task Manager.

The Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed is not affected. The data from it will be shared among multiple instances/copies.

i have at the moment 3 instances of sc open and all of them with detached windows, but when i try to switch from one instance to the other, i notice only one window switches and thus leaves me with the prior instance on my other 9 monitors. Is there a solution for it?

The other instances of Sierra Chart do not need to connect to the Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation. They are using data from a single instance which is connected.

Regarding the post #15, we do not understand what you are doing clearly enough to answer it. Furthermore, the behavior you see with selecting and activating windows on your system, is a normal part of the operating system functioning. So we would think what you see is obvious and normal.

because of the limitations regarding memory and trading multiple instances of sc, I have tried to reduce the amount of charts open, but have the following situation: I have multiple monitors with detached windows for each monitor, but I have a challenge with the control bar for each detached chart. In order to reduce the amount of charts I need something which will very efficiently allow me to change the chart settings through the control bar, but as far as I can tell, the control bar is only functional for the main page.

You can enable the control bar for detached charts through the Window menu on those charts.

Here is the documentation for that:
