SC Team - Would you please clarify whether the historical pullback data gets populated for custombars?

I have used "Renko Enhanced" custom bar(built-in) and noticed the pullback data to be not populated though I have historical pullback column checked in advanced settings.

Background:
Trying to build own custom bar - but wanted to make sure it is compatible with number bars and noticed built-in custom bar as well is not populating this data and is the reason for this support request.

Any hints?

thanks

Historical Pullback data will not work or work reliably with custom chart bars. Only the standard Bar Period Types in Chart >> Chart Settings.

And no, this is not going to be supported, and there is no solution to this. It just will not work. Please accept that.

Actually after thinking about this a little, we will have a look into this because we may be able to make this work.

It is just that it is something that is a rather complex area of the program and something that cannot really work completely perfect when copying Volume at Price data from one graph to the next and we did not want to spend further time on it.

Thanks SC team and it's fair enough. Was trying to make sure I haven't missed anything obvious w.r.t custom bars.

Anyway - I took a stab at this and got the required data calculated for Custom Bars ( Could calculate both Pullback & COT information for the same chart - which matches both historical as well as realtime).

- Just wish there was a way to populate SC_ASKBID_DIFF_HIGH/SC_ASKBID_DIFF_LOW arrays with own calculated data for these custom bars so that default number bars can display this pb/cot data on top/bottom of the bar.

Actually after thinking about this a little, we will have a look into this because we may be able to make this work.

- Would be looking forward to see if you could get to it - whenever you can. Just unable to get the pullback column populated for custom bars at this time(which is the case for built-in custom bars as well).

Thanks

Hello,

I was looking into this subject and found this post, which matches my question. I'm using number bars to view mini Hang Seng Index data, and it's only populating real time data, but doesn't show the number bars for historical data. I'm wondering if Sierra Charts designed a solution to view historical number bars? If not, it seems that ejtrader may have found some what of a solution that could be really helpful to me as well as other traders. If anyone can explain how I could make this work the way ejtrader did, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Normally there is the proper historical data for Numbers Bars but in this particular case the problem is with the historical data from CQG. If you are using CQG.

This thread is completely irrelevant to your issue.

Follow the instructions here for a tick by tick data configuration:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TickbyTickDataConfiguration.php

This should solve the problem.

If you have further questions, start a new thread.

We see your Sierra Chart account is now expired. We have added a week to it for testing.
