Hi, I have been running a SC chartbook with Excel spreadsheet study on a local machine using Win8.1 with processor Intel i5 @ 3.5GHz & 16MB memory. CPU usage is high. I have recently switched to a virtual server running Win Server 2012 with 32MB memory and quadcore processors @ 3.0GHz, but the performance I get from SC is worse to the point of unusable... Do you have a version of SC for Win Server? Do you have any advice for using on a virtual machine? The only other difference is that the local machine uses 32-bit Excel, whereas the server uses 64-bit. Any comments? Many thanks |

Are you actually using Excel? Or the Sierra Chart built-in spreadsheets? There does not need to be a version for windows server. That will not make any difference. The general way to improve Spreadsheet performance is to follow the instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Backtesting.php#ImprovingPerformanceSpreadsheets The information there applies even if you are not performing back testing. Another thing you can do is increase the Chart Update Interval: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GeneralSettings.html#CUI Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
