Is there another default study which I am overlooking which will create another horizontal line x ticks above/below an existing horizontal line which was a previously added study, such as "High/Low for Time Period" ? My goal is to create a "zone" x ticks below the high and above the low of a designated time period and then create a "Color Bar Based Upon Alert Condition" which will color the first bar subsequent to the end/last bar of the aforementioned "time period" which either opens within or eventually touches, or "crosses over" and enters either one those "zones" first.

You need to use the Study Subgraph Add study. Refer to Technical Studies Reference for more information. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. You could also use the Bands/Envelope study, with the Based On set to the horizontal lines study.

Thank you, tomgilb. I tried that but it looked goofy and went crazy. Obviously I did not use correct settings combo.. I tried a "-x" for ticks. To rearticulate my need/desire: I'd like to highlight a zone x-ticks BELOW the high for a certain subperiod of a day, and x-ticks ABOVE the low of that same subperiod. The subperiod is determined by the "High/Low for Timeperiod" study. All suggestions are welcome. The SC Engineering response was too vague for me. Hope/wish they could be more specific. |

This is a more complicated. It can be done with a combination of studies, or with a spreadsheet study. If you want to fill the space between the zone lines, you need to use the latter.Which one do you want to use? |

Thanks, "tomgilb". No need to fill the space between lines. Only need to see 2 horizontal lines: 1.) x-ticks above the low for designated time period, and 2.) x-ticks below the high of that time period. As I stated before, I already have the horizontal lines for the hi/lo of the designated time period. |

Put the attached study collection in your Sierra Chart \Data folder, open a blank chart and go to Analysis >> High Low zones- This will give you an example of how to do this. The High/Low zone offsets are set in the Study Subgraph Subtract and Study Subgraph Add studies, respectively, and the value is in Points, not Ticks. |

Thnx again, tg. I think I got it with "Band/Envelope". Your cue to use "Points, NOT Ticks" was key. I'll try your generous attachment later when I shut down and reboot after dinner. Only limitation I see so far is the desire to extend the new bands/lines farther past the initial time period.

There are a bunch of built-in studies named "Study Subgraph ...." and "Study Subgraphs ..." which can be used, I think. Try the Subtract or Difference ones. They should work, and they can be referenced with Color Bar on Alert too. I hope this helps.
