Hello,

I've recently started experimenting with Sierra Charts and have run into a few problems.

1) I am a long time Ninja user and like the way the DOM looks. I've managed to make the Sierra DOM look similar however I can't seem to be able to change the width of the columns? more specifically can I make the centre column (price) larger and the Buy/Sell columns smaller?

2) I'm having a problems with moving averages on the chart. When I add an EMA to the chart and I scroll the chart back, the EMA moves around price (up and down) and doesn't stay anchored to the chart thereby not giving the correct way it had plotted in the past? It's a little hard to explain but hopefully it makes sense. Like for example if the value of the MA was at 49.50 at 8am, and I scroll the chart back, the value of the MA all of sudden changes to 49.60 at 8am. The scale is set to Automatic. What should I do in this case?

Thanks!

1. It is possible to change the width of the Buy/Sell columns but this is all. This is documented here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalTradeSettings.html#ChartDOMSettings

2. You need to make sure that the Scale Range for both the chart and the Moving Average are both set to Automatic. One of them is not set to Automatic.

Thank You, that worked.

Few more questions:

1) Is there a way to have the cursor on the chart all the time AND be able to drag the chart left and right?
It seems the cursor disappears when you click on the chart to try and drag it.

2) When you click on the scale and drag up and down, it expands and contracts the chart. Is there a way to change the direction you need drag in order to expand the scale? For example, drag the scale upwards = expands the scale, drag the scale downwards = contracts the scale.

Thanks!

1. Yes. Select Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> Chart Values.

There is a list box which contains the option Always on When Using Other Tools. You need to select this.

Update to the latest prerelease for this. Here are instructions:

2. No, definitely not.

1. Thanks, crosshair now stays on. HOWEVER, I can't seem to drag the chart to the left and right WITH the crosshair on. When I try to drag it, it simply doesn't move.

Just to make sure it is not specific to the version you are on, update with Help >> Download Prerelease to get the latest version which is 1299 at this time.

We tested this and we do not see a problem.

I've updated, problem still persists.

The hand tool is fine, I could use it to move the chart. but as soon as I switch to the crosshair tool, the chart locks and I can't drag it left to right.

OK we understand. You need to stay on the Hand tool and then you will also see the Chart Values tool at the same time.

You cannot move the chart under any condition with the Chart Values tool.

My apologies but I still can't get it to work.

1) I've gone to tool settings >> chart values and selected "always on when using other tools"

Also, in the General Tab, I've selected pointer in the drop down menu.

See attached for screenshots.

I still can't seem to drag the chart left to right with the crosshairs always on.

2) Separately, I'm now running into a different problem: I've disabled the trade confirmations by going to the "M" menu and turning off all of the confirmations. However, when I click on my trade DOM, I still get a pop-up to confirm the trade? How do I turn off the confirmation both on the chart trader and the trade DOM?

3) Additionally, when I place an order on the Trade DOM (not chart DOM), I'd like it to show up both on the chart and the Trade DOM, is this possible?

Thank You!

1. What tool is enabled on the Tools menu? It must be the Hand tool. You should not have any trouble with this.

2. Refer to the documentation here about trade order confirmations:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TradeWindow.html#OrderConfirmations

3. Yes. Go to the chart and enable Trade >> Show Orders and Position.

The Documentation can be found here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Contents.php

Consult with the documentation first before using the support board.

All three are solved, Thank You. Still new to the platform.

The issue was that the configuration was not saved on the current trade DOM. I had to close it and open a new one, then diable the confirmation again.

Thanks.
