I have been experiencing an issue with very long startup times when I open Sierra Chart. The time between opening the program and when the program is up and running is often between 10 and 15 minutes. During that time I see several notices (in the title bar at the top of the program) that "Sierra Chart is not responding". thanks peter |

This is a very long time. Are Chartbooks opening during this time? What is the size of the TradeActivityLog.DAT file in the Sierra Chart folder? Refer to help topic 30: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails30.html Are you using any Volume by Price studies on the charts? Update Sierra Chart to the latest release following the instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate Make sure you run the version with New Spreadsheets unless you know that you require Old Spreadsheets. Yes, the chart books start to open, and some actually fill with data. But there are long periods when the program seems to freeze up. Occasionally I get an "out of memory" warning. The "TradeActivityLog" in the Sierra Chart folder is showing 37KB. I don't have any volume by price studies on the charts. |

I think I have found the cause of the problem- too many countdown timers running. Thanks for your help. Pete |

This is an indication of the main problem: Occasionally I get an "out of memory" warning.
You are loading too much data in the charts. Refer to the documentation here about this: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_WorkingWithCharts.html#OutOfMemoryCondition Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
