I would like to use a removable drive to install my SC program on. Will it be alright if I do so from a usb or other solid state removable drive (SSD)? Could there be disadvantages in doing so? As an alternate, having the data on a removable drive would satisfy my goal, while leaving the program on the main hard drive. Is that an acceptable variant for an installation of Sierra Chart? |

Yes, this will work as long as the drive is fast. However, the computer must have the Microsoft redistributable package installed: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Alright, I have bought a usb 3.0 64gb solid state drive. My understanding of the process would be as follows: 1) uninstall SC (after copying Data). 2) download redistributable 3) re-install SC (while selecting the external drive as location of Data File) 4) copy the data back-up onto the usb drive, where the Data file should be. Would this be correct? |
