Can you add a feature to specify the hostname of the machien running IQ Feed? This way if it is not running on localhost Sierra Chart can still connect.

That is not likely to work because IQ Feed may not allow the connection. You will have to forward the the network connections between the IPs so it looks like Sierra Chart is actually connecting on the localhost. Correct. But if Sierra Chart allows me to specify an optional IP (default it to 127.0.0.1 of course) then that's one less machine on which I have to do port forwarding. Otherwise I have to configure forwarding on 2 machines using netsh (on the machine running sierra chart and again on the machine running IQ). Or if you don't want to add a config setting that is unlikely to be used you could have it read an environment var like IQ_FEED_HOST_IP and I could just set that before starting Sierra Chart. What do you think?

If we add this, IQ Feed would probably object. We will see what we can do. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Oh I see. They want to have the charting software running on the same physical machine as the IQ Feed? Well then don't make any problems over it. It's easy enough to get around as it is.
