I'm unable to draw a volume by price indicator / tool from a specified start date/time to end date/time. When I do, the indicator that gets plotted is always set to start date/time to end. I've tried manually changing it and saving the indicator configuration as the new default, but it continues to draw volume profiles from my specified start point up till the end of the chart every time I draw a new profile.

We will make sure that this does not happen, but follow the instructions here to reset the settings to the default: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ChartStudies.html#CustomDefaultStudySettings Resetting the settings should work. After resetting the settings, and after drawing the Volume Profile on a chart, go into the Study Settings for the study. What is the Volume Graph Period Type set to? hah nevermind ... I tried what you mentioned but it didn't change any of the settings and I couldn't figure out why. Then I noticed I was using a tool configuration, which I didn't think affected the DVP tool. I actually made a feature request post here about it earlier so either someone built it in or I just didn't notice that it was always working. Previously I set one of my TC's to a study collection where I fixed the Vol Graph Period Type to start date / time to end. I've always been using that TC but it didn't change anything in the past. However, now I seem to be able to set different study configurations against different tool configs and it loads it up each time! :) Great stuff. Very useful for me. Anyways, tldr; everything a-OK now. Wasn't anything wrong with SC ... I was using a TC with a pre-defined study collection which is why the graph period type was always fixed at start date/time to end. |
