Hi SierraChart I've followed the 'run under Wine' steps on your website and am unable to launch SC on my OS X Yosemite Mac (latest Wine build, correct SC version, etc). The Mac terminal error relates to the UI language. I've also tried under the Codeweavers Crossover (commercialised Wine) trial and launching sierrachart.exe ends with a Crossover 'returned 255' error. Any troubleshooting tips I could follow? Regards Lee. |

What is the exact version of Wine that you are using. And what are the exact errors that you are getting. Sierra Chart Support Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-06-01 21:16:21

Make sure you also run Sierra Chart with "New Spreadsheets and not "Old Spreadsheets".

Hi 2 use cases: 1. I have wine 1.6.2 installed and Sierra Chart (new spreadsheets). From the command line (wine ./SierraChart.exe) once I'm in the correct directory, the command line error is: fixme:thread:GetThreadPreferredUILanguages 52, 0x32fb54, 0x32fbc4 0x32fb5c wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000000 at address 0xd63aff (thread 0009), starting debugger... and the wine GUI says: Program Error - The program SierraChart.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check the Application Database for tips about running this application. 2. Running under Crossover v14.1.3 Launching SierraChart.exe brings: The command "/Users/lee/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/SierraChartSetup.exe/drive_c/SierraChart/SierraChart.exe" returned 255. and the log file contains: ** Mon Jun 1 23:13:24 2015 Starting '/Users/lee/Applications/CrossOver.app/Contents/SharedSupport/CrossOver/bin/wineloader' 'winewrapper.exe' '--new-console' '--workdir' '/Users/lee/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/SierraChartSetup.exe/drive_c/SierraChart' '--start' '--' '/Users/lee/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/SierraChartSetup.exe/drive_c/SierraChart/SierraChart.exe' fixme:exec:SHELL_execute flags ignored: 0x00000100 fixme:thread:GetThreadPreferredUILanguages 52, 0x33fb54, 0x33fbc4 0x33fb5c err:mscoree:load_mono Could not load Mono into this process fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x673d3804) stub fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x4aaa76ec) stub fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0xe4b744) stub fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x78e1abb4) stub fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x381174) stub fixme:msvcrt:__clean_type_info_names_internal (0x101193c4) stub Just to add.... the user case 1 (Wine) scenario occurred before I installed CrossOver so there's no conflict between the Wine install and CrossOver. For reference, it's running nicely under VirtualBox on my Mac, but I'd prefer to run without a virtual machine if I can. Many thanks Lee. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2015-06-01 22:15:09

I apologize for the delayed response, this thread got overlooked. We have tested the latest version of Sierra Chart with wine 1.6.2 on Ubuntu and on Debian, and it works as expected. Make sure that your installation of wine is complete and you have all the requirements to make it run: http://wiki.winehq.org/MacOSX#head-3d76f40e89a1da813fa976a4d4b3234d1a77a1c4 Sierra Chart Support |
