I am trying to download historical charts on the ES. Right now, I can only get it to go back to the first of the year. And some of the data is missing up until March. How do I do this? I couldn't find anything on the support board.

You need to use a Continuous Futures Contract chart. What about downloading historical data for the NYSE Tick and NYSE A/D Line? I can't seem to get any data past last year? I was able to download historical charts on the ES after your advice above, but not as far back on the NYSE TICK and A/D Line.

If you need data further back for these market statistics symbols, you need to use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service: Sierra Chart Historical Data Service For the NYSE TICK you need to use the symbol $TICK when using the SC Historical Data service. What symbol would I need for the NYSE Advance/Decline Line? Not the ratio, but the number of advancing stocks minus number of declining stocks. I found the current symbol but not the one I need for historical charts.

I tried using $NSHF for the historical chart but it only takes me back to November of last year. I changed the days in the chart settings to further back then that, but I'm still not getting any dates beyond November 2014?

I apologize, but I also can't get the NQ historical data to load past 2011.

I tried using $NSHF for the historical chart but it only takes me back to November of last year. I changed the days in the chart settings to further back then that, but I'm still not getting any dates beyond November 2014? Is this an Intraday or Historical chart? It is extremely unlikely you would have a problem like this with a Historical chart.I apologize, but I also can't get the NQ historical data to load past 2011. I was able to get $NSHF to load back to 2008. I still can't get NQ to go past 2011. And yes, they are both historical charts.

For NQ it says,"No contract months found for symbol. Unable to build continuous futures contract chart." The next line reads,"There are no continuous futures contracts symbols. Loading data normally."

SC historical data is what it's set too. The symbol is just NQ. I also just noticed my ES chart is missing chunks of dates. I tried following the troubleshooting guide about deleting and re-downloading the data, but that hasn't worked for me.

These are not the correct symbols. You can find the symbols in File >> Find Symbol. For the NASDAQ futures the current symbol is NQM15 Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Wow, I've been using the wrong symbols. Thank you! Is there a way to search for symbols by typing words such as "Russell" or "Nasdaq"?

Yes. You can find the symbols here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures You can use your web browser search function to search for the symbols on that page. The prices in my historical charts, at least for the ES, seem to be incorrect. I use a website which archives their daily tradeplans. None of the prices they were using match with my chart. As an example, I was simulating trades in 2011 on the ES and my historical prices were off by about 85 points compared with what the prices actually were at that time. Is there a way to fix this?

Are you back adjusting the data with the Continuous Futures Contract option which back adjusts data?

I think so. I've been choosing the option of Continuous Futures Contract - Date Rule Rollover - Back Adjusted. Is that what you mean?

Yes this is the problem. Do not use one of the back adjusted Continuous Contract options.

Whenever I don't have that option selected I can't get the full historical data though?

This does not make sense if you use Continuous Futures Contract - Date Rule Rollover. If there is any missing data when using that option, re-download the data for all contract months following the instructions here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html#ReDownloading Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I get what you are saying to do now. Sorry. I switched over to the Date Rule Rollover without the back adjustment. That fixed the problem. Thank you.
