In the field , Global settings / General Settings / Alert

I have Alert 1 - Alert 1 ( so twice the text ) and that
blocks the alert sound I guess

How can I correct this , please

Thanks

jaban

I just realize that I have this on all 3 independent downloads from Sierra
Versions 1239 and 1252 and 1253

What actually happens is that each time I go to another chart and back ,
the Alert setting is back on postion 1 , result no alert sound

This will be fixed in the next release.

No, it will have no effect upon the playing of an alert sound.

We do not understand what you specifically are referring to. And moving around among charts is not going to change alert settings.

Hi

What I mean is , I ignore postion 1 and put
an alert sound on position 2 .

I do not get an alert sound when the signal is happening and
when I go back to global sett/general sett / alert on the same chart
"the alert "is back on position 1 instead of 2.

I hope this helps

thanks

Yes. This does make sense and is not a problem. This is normal functioning of the interface.

Ok fine

I have chart on position 2 , with an alert sound connected

the signal is there , I have it in the log

sound is on , but I do not get the sound alert that I should get

It worked for years , so what can it be?

I went thr the sound " troubles list " , but everything looks fine.

I list it all again . maybe that gives you an indication what is wrong

1. chart with alert indicator and sound on alert 2
2. signals show up in the log , value is true
3 sound check on alert 2 gives the correct sound
4. I have sound on my comp. , also Sierra sound , but I always get the sound
connected to the alert 1 position. I checked this by changing the sound setting.

I tyried alert position 3 , same result.
I tried alert position 10 and it works correct.

So something is not correct in the alert position connection.

When you have this problem, provide us a copy of the alert message line in the Window >> Show/Hide Alerts Manager >>Alerts Log that shows the alert

I tried alert position 10 and it works correct.
This should not matter. We do not know why this is the case because using any particular Alert Number will work fine.
