I have a continuous contract "FDAX0615-EUREX [CBV]" on my chart (from 2009 up to the recent data) and I can view it without any problems. But when I try to export that chart to a text file it only writes something about latest 2 months not the whole 5 years.

What could be the problem ?

You need to use this command instead:

Make sure you are on the current version of Sierra Chart. This is a new command named Edit >> Export Bar Data to Text File.

SC updated and now I can see that option.

I tried it but for some reason it did it by the 5 minute bars not 200 tick bars which is configured on the chart.

How can I fix this ?

We do see one minor problem where the last bar is not written to the file and that will be corrected in the next release.

However when using Edit >>Export Bar Data to Text File, the outputted data represents each bar. Here is an example of output for a 500 trades per bar chart:

Date, Time, Open, High, Low, Last, Volume, NumberOfTrades, BidVolume, AskVolume
2015/5/8, 16:09:32.34, 2108.25, 2108.50, 2108.00, 2108.25, 2115, 500, 1227, 888
2015/5/8, 16:10:04.24, 2108.25, 2108.75, 2108.00, 2108.25, 2059, 500, 813, 1246
2015/5/8, 16:11:28.2, 2108.25, 2108.50, 2107.75, 2108.25, 2391, 500, 1212, 1179
2015/5/8, 16:12:23.38, 2108.25, 2108.25, 2107.50, 2108.25, 2875, 500, 1452, 1423
2015/5/8, 16:13:31.36, 2108.25, 2108.50, 2108.00, 2108.50, 2191, 500, 1210, 981
2015/5/8, 16:14:11.6, 2108.50, 2108.75, 2108.00, 2108.50, 3423, 500, 1720, 1703

The functionality definitely works correctly.

Now I understand what is going on.

The end of the file starting from 2013/1/4 is 200 tick bars (as my chart is) but before that it shows only 5 minute bars.

So it seems you do not have a tick data for the FDAX futures available until that date.

If this is the case then problem solved ;)
