On a spreadsheet study, I am getting the warning: WorkbookSet is locked! The message log shows: Exception caught from study function. What does this mean? How can I fix it? The warning on the spreadsheet says to see the SpreadsheetGear.IWorkbookSet.GetLock documentation. I wasn't able to locate this on the site. Thanks. |

Go to the spreadsheet and select Spreadsheet >> Workbook Explorer. On the left side of the Workbook Explorer you will see the different Books and Sheets listed. Select each one and check the Protection settings on the right to make sure they are disabled. There are separate protection settings for the Books and Sheets. So check each one. Close the spreadsheet and then go to File >>Open Spreadsheet and delete the spreadsheet file. A new one will be created by the Spreadsheet study. If there are formulas on the existing spreadsheet, then make a copy of those first and then put them into something like a text editor and paste them into the new spreadsheet.

I got it working again. I attempted a few things before I got it working again. I removed the spreadsheet studies and tried to add a new spreadsheet. The new spreadsheet would not show any data and it showed the WorkbookSet Lock error. Rebooting didn't seem to change anything either. Then I upgraded to version 982 and now I can open a new spreadsheet study without the error. I'll have to rebuild my prior spreadsheet studies but at least it's working again. I don't know why upgrading made a difference but it did. Anyway, thanks for looking into this. It can be closed out. |

Makes no sense. Nothing has changed in newer versions which would change this. Anyway, at least it is now working. This is one of many reasons why we are developing our own spreadsheet functionality, to eliminate problems like this. We really do not know what the underlying cause is.
