I have a study that is not showing on a chart. The study is present in the chart, its values are showing on the data field, it is set to show in the chart as lines, but it is not showing (it is not a matter of same color as background).

When I apply the same study (study saved as study collection) to other instruments, study does show up.

Can you please help with this? Can't find the solution.

Check to make sure Hide Study is not set for the study.

And also make sure the Scale Range for it is set to "Automatic".

Check the study Start Time and End Time Study inputs.

Check the Session Times for the chart:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SessionTimes.php

We also recommend using different Study Subgraph colors which are not close to the background color.

What are the Session Times of the chart set to?

And what are all of the Input settings of the study set to?

We need all of that information.

This has been added to the documentation for the Start Time study Input:
The Start Time must be within the time range of the Session Times, otherwise no lines may be displayed.

Most likely the Session Times changed.

To prevent that, refer to:

thanks for the link. i actually forgot about that. i didnt have the 'Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart' so that is kinda odd. i will have to see what happens to it the next time i roll i guess.

To prevent the Session Times from being changed when the symbol of an Intraday chart is changed, do the following:

Make sure Global Settings >> Symbol Settings >> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart is unchecked.
Make sure Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings >> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart is unchecked.

both of these have to be disabled? i thought it was possible that you could enable the global 'Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart' while disabling that on a specific chart so it wouldnt do that but would for new charts that are created.

Either one can be disabled.

Both of them are mentioned for completeness.

disabling the global option would make the chart settings option irrelevant though, wouldnt it?

We checked now. If the chart specific option is enabled, the Session Times will get updated on a symbol change to the session times in Global Symbol Settings.

So this is why they are both mentioned in the documentation. They do both have to be disabled.

We checked. Actually, if the chart specific option is enabled, the Session Times will get updated on a symbol change.

even if the global option is disabled? what about when you have the global option enabled but disabled on a chart?

Yes even in that case.

what about when you have the global option enabled but disabled on a chart?
In this case the Session Times will get updated on a symbol change to the session times in Global Symbol Settings.

so basically, your session times will be changed on a symbol change unless you disable both. i think we have to go up a level here. im changing contracts for the same symbol. does all of this still apply? or does it only apply when to change to a different product symbol?

the weird part is i have a mix of charts that use different sessions based on the CL that are all linked together and it was only this one chart that must have changed even though they all have the 'Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart' disabled in the chart settings.
