Hello,

Currently subscribed to SC Package 5 with SC real-time and historical feed.
I'm using IB as a trading service with "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" enabled.

So my question is, is it possible to display the NYSE-TICK provided by IB instead of SC? How do I know which data feed I'm using when I open the symbol TICK-NYSE?

Another question just in order to understand how this combination is working. Say I don't have SC real-time data, only SC historical, and I connect to IB with "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds" enabled. Up to which point in time will the SC historical tick data be used in the chart before IB's real-time data takes over?

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Elie

To use the Interactive Brokers market statistics symbols, refer to the symbol formats described here:
Interactive Brokers Symbols

Up to which point in time will the SC historical tick data be used in the chart before IB's real-time data takes over?

It will be up to the most recent 10 to 15 minutes. You also need to be sure to set Sierra Chart for a tick by tick data configuration:

Thank you very much for the quick reply.

The NYSE TICK for IB is TICK-NYSE, which is exactly the same as in SC if I'm not mistaken.
I'm opening the symbol TICK-NYSE and it's using SC's data.

Regarding the second question. It's great that SC fills everything up until the last 10-15 min. However, Is IB's real-time data being stored in the scid file as well or in memory? My question is actually, what happens when I re-open the chart the next day. Is the previous day's data reloaded from SC's tick data and replacing the data I was receiving from IB in real-time the day before or do I have to delete and re-download from SC?

Thanks again,
Elie

The IB symbol for the NYSE TICK is probably:
TICK-NYSE-IND-NYSE

IB real-time data is being stored in the Intraday data file and will not be automatically replaced unless there is a manual re-download of that data.

Thanks for explaining how IB real-time works with SC. It's clear now.

Unfortunately, I am still unable to get the TICK from IB instead of SC

I tried TICK-NYSE-IND-NYSE and I'm getting this error:
Message from IB: Error validating request:-'ed' : cause - Please enter a valid security type. IB Error Code: 321. Request ID: 1. Symbol: TICK-NYSE-IND-NYSE. | 2015-04-03 06:04:02
